JOE ELLIS - Author of The Healing Place
The author of The Healing Place, Joe C. Ellis, was born in the Ohio Valley and raised in Martins Ferry. At the age of 17 he made a midnight journey to the Scotch Ridge Presbyterian Church to sit in The Chair. Little did he realize that 18 years later he would become the pastor of that Church. The blue-collar life of his home town, the experience of pastoring a rural congregation, and the legends and stories that have arisen here have become the inspiration for his first novel, The Healing Place.
